Having a Web site does not automatically bring success. Having been in business since 1970, I realized that my web site would need to be promoted too. But how should I go about it?

I purchased some books about marketing on line and tried out some of the ideas they presented. The visits to our site (hits) started to pick up. Then I attended a $3000.00 marketing class presented by some people who really knew their stuff. I started trying their ideas and guess what? - our hits increased again and our sales picked up.

While I was out in cyberspace trying everything I had learned I started getting more ideas of my own. A lot of these worked too and we started to sell more product.

Then I placed my site in four on-line Malls, which generated even more sales.

Now ten years later I have many successful sites, and we have sold products in over 50 countries and all 50 states.

All of what I have learned I now offer for sale to anyone starting out for $19.95.

 Ten of my marketing tips are offered for you to try free:

1. List your site in all of the search engines. (Last count 5,000) (If you don't know how we offer a program to teach you)

2. Place a Meta on every page on your site. (If you don't know what a meta is we offer a program to teach you.

3. Give something away for free on you site even if it's just information. People on the web are drawn to the word FREE. (It got you to read this list, didn't it ?)

6. Do not make your Web site look like your Yellow Page ad.
Be innovative.

10. Use a Guestbook. This generates a mailing list of people who are interested in your products. If they request not to be on your list, respect the request.

11. .Answer your emails EVERY day. Your first reply back to a customer shows them you care. (If you do not know about e-mail we offer a program to teach you. And if you don't own a computer we fax your e-mails and orders to you as they come in.)

 23. Tell your world-wide audience something about your business and yourself. Do it as if you were talking to them in person, and sign your name. People who buy from you on the web want to know you are a real person.

 

A picture of you also helps.

32. Anyone who tries to sell you something through your e-mail box is a potential customer for you also. Return their mail with your latest newsletter about your web site and products. Many of them are small businesses too just like you and they may be interested in what you have to offer.

(If they ask you to remove them from your list, tell them you will when they remove you from their list :)

 
 

 35. Open more than one shop.

This gives you more exposure in search engines etc. For example: We started out with one site,"Dynamic Recording".

Then we separated the Music Store and gave it its own name and own listings "Dynamic Music Store".

Then we placed all of the Christmas items in a cute "The Dynamic Year Around Christmas Shop".

3 stores with 3 listings in all of the search engines , but all 1 business!

 44. If you can put the number one in your URL, do it.

     You will come up first in web searches.
